My name is Bruce Pope. My wife, Nancy, and I live in beautiful Frederick, Maryland. Read below for details on my background, how I became Santa Bruce, and what I do to share the magic of Christmas.
Who I Am & What I Do
I have been involved with acting since my teens and have played in over 100 musical theater shows all around the DC / Maryland area. I am a member of the Screen Actors Guild and have been an extra in many movie productions filmed around DC. For many years, I waited for my beard and mustache to grow full and white. in 2021, I had a wonderful suit custom-made in Wales, and when I put it on, "Santa Bruce" was born! This is my favorite role ever!
During my Santa visits to family gatherings, I enjoy talking to children, entertaining them with interesting Santa information, singing with them, telling silly jokes, and listening to their Christmas wishes. At public events, I happily welcome folks and share the joy of the season, making certain to stop by every table to spread good cheer. I work with several photographers in the area, many commenting that my acting skills in posing make for perfect photographs for their clients.
During the warmer seasons, I play "Summer Santa," and the past two years I was Santa at the Frederick Keys game at Harry Grove Stadium.
I am available for visits to school, church and home parties, parades, businesses, corporate or organizational events, pubs or restaurants, and photo shoots. For summer, I'm happy to arrive in a Hawaiian shirt for Christmas in July, pool parties, or special sales or fund-raising events.
I am based in Frederick, MD and will be spreading Christmas magic throughout the area again this year.
